Copysnatcher Entries

Well, the winners have been announced for a good few weeks, and everyone has now claimed their prizes. So, as promised, here we have all the entries for you to admire or mock as you wish. Maybe you even disagree with the judges’ final decision? Well, if so: FUCK YOU.

It’s a really decent set of entries, it has to be said. True, some do stray a bit too far from the ‘Remastered’ theme for our comfort, but that doesn’t change the fact that there’s some great creativity on show. And, it has to be said, some genuine lols.

Feel free to admit to your crimes in the comments.

“Her hair’s too long for a computer!” Plus, RDI effect.

The End?

A tribute to Red Dwarf.

This is a still of Rimmer, Kryten, Lister and the Cat in Tikka to Ride as they are waiting for the gunman on the grassy knoll to shoot. I decided to give it more colour.

Like the “What If” machine in Futurama, this is a possible what if Lister had been played by Craig Ferguson, Kochanski was still Clare Grogan and Kryten was still played David Ross. Not sure if it’s really counted as remastering for this comp, but I thought I would try entering it in anyway.

A nice mature *entry* for you here. Snort.

Skutters don’t get time off…

Kryten: Watch….my dreams…

Here exclusively are the original photo’s of the cast used to draw the mobisode crew.

I LOVE YOU.
This cell has been left intentionally blank. Fuck off.

How sweet of you to store them in a directory called “losers.”

!!!

I demand to know who did the Ricky Gervais Kryten. I’ve been making that joke for ages!

Well, not “making that joke for ages” so much as “made that joke once, at some point, in the past, I forget when, and have no evidence.”

I nearly voted for the re-coloured Tikka, and the re-cast Ouroboros… so close!

Not going to share which one?

>I nearly voted for the re-coloured Tikka, and the re-cast Ouroboros… so close!

This raises an interesting question: were the final decisions unanimous? Or was it a majority decision?

Not that I’m trying to stir up controversy, as a majority vote would be perfectly fair. I’m just curious.

My personal favorite is the recast Ouroboros. My least-understood one is the Hyperdrive Alien Spotting card.

The final placing wasn’t unanimous as we used points. Everyone voted for their own top three and they were scored 3, 2 and 1 respectively. The final score didn’t have any ties in it, so it was thankfully clear cut!

Mine was the robot woman on the monitor. It had the caption “Watch my dreams”……..well I found it funny.

Good point. I’ll add the captions to the ones that had them tonight.

And I found it funny, too!

I was so baffled by that, I had to look it up. Apparently, they’re autograph-card sorts of things that people can write to Cecil and Riley for. As well as giving you their autographs, they’ll give you a little doodle of an alien race. Someone (well, I say someone, it’s obviously Si) has just scanned theirs in and submitted it.

I really like that idea!

It’s a pity the series wasn’t so inventive.

I entered two because you said there were many entering so decided to enter another one.

Mine are….*drum roll*…oh! What happened to the pictures? I can’t see them, it’s just code

What does this mean?

It’s working for me now too…yay!

Anyway what was I talking about before…oh yer, mine is the tikka re-colour and the one next to it on the right, which I should of done something different.

Jonathan Capps's picture Staff

Jonathan Capps / Sun, 2007-12-09 21:22 / #

Entrants captions (where applicable) now added!

Yours were good, Penny, especially the recoloured Tikka one as it was very relevant to the remastered series (I thought the colour grading they did was horrendous at times.)

Phil's picture

Phil / Sun, 2007-12-09 22:50 / #

The Tikka one is actually pretty great, yeah. It’d probably go in my top 3. And the robot on the monitor one just made me chuckle. At first I just assumed it was a sexier Holly.

Poll idea: Favorite copysnatcher entry OR Favorite copysnatcher loser

People who entered will most likely vote for themselves, but hey why not!

Steve Harris / Sun, 2007-12-09 23:54 / #

All very good and lots of different styles, one of the better competitions…
Great fun, it would be nice to have something like this again.

Of course, no sooner had I gone for the symbolism of Cambden Lock destroying Starbug, Cambden Lock itself was blown out of the sky by the BBC…

Alien Spotting and the Jizz Beast.

Thought the G&T boyz would go for that one.

The jizz beast was excellent, yes. It was voted for, if I remember rightly.

I’m scared that loads of these will congregate in a large room and start dancing, coz then you’d have a LOOSE SEAL BALL!

HA

And Kryten’s wet dream. Just surprised it wasn’t of a hoover!

> Is that all there was?

Aye. Certainly enough for a good competition and about the amount I’d expect given how many people comment on the site and, from them, how many would likely enter such a thing.
