I think it’s a mixture of people who know each other well enough to know how far to push an insult without overstepping the mark, and some parties genuinely being moany to the extent that you cannot possibly determine it’s validity.
In other words:
I’m not sure :)
Yeah, I got the impression from the commentaries it was mainly good natured leg pulling.
He already did … kind of

I don’t see why they would hate him, unless there was a good reason to. On the VIII commentary (years since I’ve listened to it, will I ever again??) he creates a few silences with his dodgy comments but that’s him all over.
I always got the impression that for the most part, they guys are mentally rolling their eyes at him when he starts his “pity me” routine, like it’s something they’ve gotten used to, but still find annoying on some level. Kind of like my sister…it’s always someone else’s fault something’s gone wrong, but we just let her rattle on because we know she’s full of it.
It alarms me just how much in common my Dad has with Norm.
I hope it’s not genetic.
And if i have to hear that David Ross ‘Legit’ story from him one more time, i’m gonna slap him with a wet fish!
Every time he tells that story, Craig Charles should say his dildonics joke.
He does. That’s why there are often pauses in the commentaries. Craig’s dildonics joke has been edited out for reasons of time. And taste.

I’m not talking about the whole ‘Back to Earth’ thing…
I was just listening to the commentaries on the series 8 DVD, and there are quite a few points where you thought that Norm and the rest of the cast really don’t get on. Some snide comments here and there from both parties. Didn’t seem like play insulting like the others do with each other.
Or is just me? :-D
